Things to do before we move out of Midtown Memphis

Since we have 4-5 weeks left in Midtown, Bryan  and I have been making mental lists of things we need to do before we move. Both the practical and also the things which take advantage of this awesome location.  I thought I'd get it out of my head and into a post so I can free up some space for the ongoing rug and curtain debates. (Side note: did I put so much thought into decorating my first house? I can't remember.)

Midtown Bucket List:

  • Walks to the park
  • Walk to Favorite Restaurants:
    • Bosco's
    • Robata's
    • Kwik Check
    • Huey's
    • Molly's
  • Dinner at Dino's!
  • Spontaneous trip Downtown because it's only 5 minutes away
  • Shell Concert - unfortunately not going to happen before we close. (Insert sad emoji here)
  • Walk to the zoo
  • Last visits to Cash Saver and Joe's

We will keep updating as we think of more things.

Garden Update Monday

Good Monday to you! I'm anxious for another garden season. The annual plant sales were this weekend and I managed to go to the Lichterman sale Friday morning. Even though I wanted to buy all the plants I restrained myself. With our big move coming up I knew I couldn't buy too many. When I was at the sale I didn't even know where we'd be living come June. (Spoiler alert: we know now!) Bryan told me not to buy anything. Ha.

I bought three succulents and two herbs. One of the major bummers about moving is that I will lose most of my established herbs: rosemary, parsley, oregano, thyme, marjarom, mint. Sigh. So I purchased a rosemary and parsley at the Lichterman sale. The good news is the new house has some established oregano!

In other news my seedlings are maturing. Tomatoes are looking good and peppers are starting to emerge. I'm not sure when we will be able to plant in the Shelby Farms plot, but it should be soon.

I planted a few pea seeds a few weeks ago in one of the garden beds. I thought it'd look nice with some little seedlings, but they didn't emerge until after we had a contract on the house. Oh well. How about some free peas, new homeowners?

My fig tree is getting leafy. Can't wait to get this in the ground in the new yard!

So that's how things are shaping up so far. Exciting times ahead!
