Weekly Links

We are in a serious baby haze over here. Oddly enough I still have time to catch up on social media and blogs during breast feeds and holding a squishy faced baby.  Here's some things that caught my attention.

I'm obsessed with these bags. Seriously. I need one.

I love Frances McDormand. I especially love this video of her on aging. Her hair is fabulous. For a few years now I've had some grey hairs and I refuse to pull or color them.  I earned those grey hairs. Every time I see them I remember all the shit I went through to get them.

Love this look at motherhood and parenting.

As a task oriented person, this post was a much needed word.

Fascinating look on Millennials buying habits and how companies should change to accommodate the changing perspective on goods.

I pinned the heck out of this house.

Food links:
Slow Cooker Pork Ramen - ever since our New York trip I can not get enough ramen. Need to try this once the will to cook returns.
Chili Style Beans on Roasted Sweet Potatoes - it must be the hormones but this looks really good to this normally bean hating person
Corn Chili, Potato Soup - I have a can of chili in adobo sauce. What are the chances I am going to cook before these go bad?
Cheesy Avocado Quesadillas - I want these right now, but with chorizo
Chili Mac and Cheese - I'm obviously craving comfort food

Have a happy weekend! Oh and Valentines too. I hear that's happening this weekend.

Happy Friday. No Charlie yet, but that might be changing soon! Here are a few links from this week:

This makes me want to grow more things just to hoard in my basement. Maybe my potatoes will do better this year.

Favorite food, favorite verse, a well written blog post.

A neat way to pick out wine. Although my favorite tip is the last one: regular consumption.

Emily Henderson is not only one of my favorite designers, but also a favorite blogger. Besides her sparkling personality, she does a great job of educating readers on why/how to make good design choices. Her latest masterpiece is on sofas. Yes, I inherited my statement couch, but still... couches are important. Don't mess it up!

Drunken Oreos? Forget the Oreo part, can we just eat boozey pudding?

We're waiting on Charlie's arrival over here, growing more and more impatient by the day. Here are a few links I found amusing this week:

I have always loved Isaac Mizrahi. I was surprised by his subdued, but still lovely apartment.

Congrats to our friend, Taylor, for being featured in this awesome video by Choose 901.

Bookmarked recipes:
Brussels Sprouts with Sausage and Cumin
Crockpot Caramelized Pork Ramen Noodle Soup with Curry Roasted Acorn Squash - a bit more complicated than your average crockpot meal, but it looks like it could be worth it.

Bryan and I were talking about this the other day: Why Wes Anderson hasn't won an Oscar

Loving music by Benjamin Booker:

Hope you have a great weekend!

Linky Links

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Thanksgiving and are enjoying a long weekend filled with food, family, and relaxation. Here are some fun links I've enjoyed over the last couple of weeks.

One day I'll refurbish a vintage trailer just like these cool folks.

Great article on how introverts interact with the world. No truer statement has ever been written about me without them knowing me:
If you're looking to destroy an introverted person's attention span, just put them in a situation where they feel overstimulated. Due to increased sensitivity to their surroundings, introverts struggle with feeling distracted and sometimes overwhelmed in large crowds and open office spaces.

More Jenny Lind cribs in nurseries. Glad to see Charlie is not alone.

As a fellow puzzle nerd I loved this: How Puzzles Help My Writing. If I start doing jigsaw puzzles more regularly do you think I could write a book?  I think yes.

Speaking of puzzles, I'm thoroughly obsessed with this podcast

I swear I only read the comments on Joanna's blog. I put sooooo many new bands to listen to on my "to-listen" list from this post

Links I Love

It's been a while since I've done a link post, but I thought I'd drop in and do one every once in a while again.  Mainly, just because I love looking back and seeing what I was reading or knowing I've linked to a specific thing here and can quickly refer back to it.

Without further ado:

Fall cookbook roundup - I'm pretty sure at least five of these will make their way into my collection. I've already told Bryan that I only want cookbooks for my birthday and Christmas.

I want to Bryan to make this Apple Skin Infused Bourbon because I can't.

What I wouldn't give to visit Grey Gardens!

A long read on gluten.

Along the lines of my current favorite topic: kids food and cooking: Food bloggers discuss cooking after baby.

Just bought supplies to make this for holiday presents. I'm going to experiment by making matches with bourbon, brandy, and rum too!

I plan to go back and read comments on this post on being a homemaker over the weekend.

Good morning! We were a little lazy this morning and are just now getting up and Bryan is making me breakfast as I type.

Here's what I liked this week:

Garden Gnome plant markers. I'm going to make Bryan make these for me.

Social farting... makes just as much sense as social smoking.

NCAA tournament is underway. A few of my favorite facts this week:
1) There are ZERO perfect brackets this year.
2) More people were accepted into Harvard than chose them on their bracket.
